Helping future female leaders break into STEM

Projectify is a platform for high school girls to create, share and collaborate on side projects and gain relevant experience to break into STEM. It started as an award winning Hackathon project in November 2022. Now, our team of 4 is developing it further with the long-term goal of publishing an app. Here are some things I’ve worked on so far!

Project Planning

Getting Started

We started off by determining team roles, defining our goals, setting up design and development environments on Figma and VS Code, and scheduling weekly meets. We used Notion to create a hub for planning out our app implementation and tracking our progress and a Discord server for internal communication.

Success is rooted in Systems

A few weeks in I refined our design and development process by introducing a task board with a backlog this helped better communicate which tasks are being worked on, document our progress and organize all of our ideas in one place.

Building a Design Foundation

Creating a “Single Source of Truth”

I used our initial style guide to start a design system in Figma to ensure consistency throughout our app and make prototyping efficient by creating easy-to-use components and variants.

I also played around with some logo designs to represent our brand identity and values.
